Exclusive: Redmi K80 Pro to offer 50MP floating telephoto lens with Samsung sensor – GSMChina

Xiaomi is working on the Redmi’s upcoming flagship killer series, the Redmi K80 lineup. The lineup will first debut with the Redmi K80 Pro and K80 smartphones. The devices were spotted on the IMEI database recently, which further hints at the upcoming launch of the gadget. We now have exclusive information to share regarding the K80 Pro device.

Redmi K80 Pro will feature the same telephoto lens as Xiaomi 14

As per the information shared by our in-house leaker, the forthcoming Redmi K80 Pro will feature a 50-megapixel floating telephoto lens camera. It will make use of Samsung’s popular JN1 sensor. The telephoto camera specification is similar to what we get on the Xiaomi 14 device. Further, per him, the device will pack a 5500mAh battery.

The K80 Pro is indeed going to be a very exciting device. Talking about the rumoured specifications, the device is said to feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with 2K pixel resolution. It will surely have high refresh rate support as well. We’ve already mentioned the battery capacity; it will support 100W fast charging.

The gadget will house triple rear cameras with possibly all of them having a 50-megapixel sensor. The primary wide sensor is followed by an ultrawide and then the telephoto lens. The Redmi K80 Pro will continue the legacy of offering a glass and metal build combination. It will also have an Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner.

Further, the device will pack a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The specifications suggest an impressive upgrade over its predecessor, the K70 Pro. For reference, the K70 Pro offered specifications such as a 6.67-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 16-megapixel selfie shooter and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Apart from this, there are no details on the gadget. The launch date is also unknown for now. But it is expected that the launch will happen in Q4 of 2024 i.e. Oct-Nov-Dec.
