OnePlus is all set to launch its other mid-range smartphone, the OnePlus Nord 4. The brand has already started sending out launch invites for the event happening on July 16th in Italy. Before that, we started getting some wild leaks about the upcoming device. One of them reveals how the Nord 4 will look in real life. And to our surprise, it looks very much like the Google Pixel 2 device.

OnePlus Nord 4 doesn’t look like a OnePlus device, in terms of design

Past OnePlus Nord series devices were known for simple and minimal design. Some of the selected devices in the series also bought some fancy colour options to attract more audiences. However, the OnePlus Nord 4 seems to be getting totally out of the league. One of the tipsters on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has shared a live image of the upcoming device. At first, even we got confused about its really a “OnePlus” device or not.

If you look closely, it looks very much like the past Google Pixel 2 device. There’s a dual-tone rear panel with the portion around the camera having a glossy finish and the upper middle to bottom portion having a matte finish. Dual rear cameras with independent housing cutouts can be seen alongside LED lights housed inside the top portion of the rear. The dual camera could feature a primary wide paired with an ultrawide.

Anyway, there’s some good news. The device will not miss out on the alert slider. It can be seen housed on the right-hand side of the gadget. The volume controller buttons along with the power control buttons are housed on the left-hand side frame of the device. That’s not all. The device will reportedly feature a “metal” rear panel.

Yes, you heard it right. A metal build on a 2024 smartphone. In recent times, smartphone manufacturers either go with plastic frames or glass. Metal back has become a thing of the past. But OnePlus seems to be bringing it back with the Nord 4. But aside from that, the device is said to offer a 6.74-inch OLED Tianma U8+ display with 1.5k pixel resolution and support of 120Hz high refresh rate. The peak brightness of the display is said to be as high as 2150 nits.

For the power compartment, the OnePlus Nord 4 packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 chipset. It’s a good chipset and would be interesting to see how OnePlus optimizes it for the device. Going further, the forthcoming smartphone will pack a 5500mAh battery paired with up to 100W of fast charging.

As for the cameras, the device will pack dual rear cameras with a 50-megapixel primary lens and an 8-megapixel secondary ultrawide lens. It will house a 16-megapixel front shooter for selfies. Additionally, the device is said to offer dual stereo speakers, an under-display fingerprint scanner, X-axis liner motor of upgraded haptic experience.

Regarding connectivity, the Nord 4 is not going to miss out on any major part. It will have support for up to 5G network connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and the audience’s favourite IR blaster as well.
